Getting Started

What's the Process?

EHSI will forward you a written proposal and SDS questionnaire. The questionnaire gathers information from the customer about the composition of the product, appearance and odor, physical properties and other safety information that the manufacturer might know.

The customer completes the questionnaire and returns it to us with copies of supplier MSDSs for the ingredients. EHSI does the necessary research from there, and returns a draft electronic SDS for your review.

New OSHA MSDS Requirements Affect You!

In March 2012, the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) passed the first major change to its Hazard Communication Standard since 1985.  This change incorporates most provisions of the United Nations Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals.  By 2015, all MSDSs (now to be called Safety Data Sheets, or SDS) written for chemical products distributed in the U.S. must be updated to meet the new rigorous standards.  These new standards are very complex and extensive.  Gone are the days when untrained staff can compile off-the-cuff MSDSs for your products.

If you’re asking yourself any of these questions –
